Ms. Olivia Mode- Cater is one of the many new additions to our community and is part of the exciting new dance program.
Ms. Mode-Cater “really likes” the work involved with dancing adding, “Seeing my students work hard and accomplish things they didn’t know they could do is really satisfying.”
Prior to teaching at RPS, Ms. Mode taught at a charter school in Plain eld, NJ. After three years, she decided to start auditioning for professional roles. She was then able to teach dance in high er education studios. She explains, “ I came to RPS because of the community and culture.”
Her appreciation for Rutgers Prep’s unique community is shared by many students and teachers. Ms. Mode- Cater elaborates, “I like working in an environment where the teachers can get to know their students well and have high expectations for learning.” She adds, “ My first couple weeks here have been great!”
Ms. Mode-Cater adds, “Everyone has been very welcoming and receptive to dance. My students have been working up a sweat and I already see progress being made.”
After a long day of teaching dance, Ms. Mode likes to spend her free time relaxing and watching her all time favorite show, The Office.
When not laughing at Steve Carrell, the main character of The Office, Ms. Mode also enjoys action movies and mystery shows.
Beyond the screen, she likes to ski, read, hike with her dogs, and travel.
Ms. Mode is very passionate about dance and hopes to bring her experience in music videos, musical theater, and professional dance to Rutgers Prep.
She is also “excited about the opportunity to build a dance program” and “leave [her] thumbprint on the school.”
