This year’s New York Fashion Week was more exciting than ever before. From September 7th to September 13th, designers from all over the world came to New York to preview the future of fashion. From Rihanna with her pink sand and BMX bikes to the newest ll icon, Cardi B, New York Fashion Week had it all.
Tom Ford kicked o fashion week at the Park Avenue Armory with a blend of 90s-inspired clothing and his own modern glamour updates. Kaia Jordan Gerber, Cindy Crawford’s daughter, made her modeling debut in the Calvin Klein show. She also walked for Coach, Fenty x Puma, Alexander Wang, and Marc Jacobs.
Typical fashion week shows feature models on the runway, but Alexander Wang shifted this paradigm in a new direction. She had her show on the streets of
Brooklyn with models entering from a tour bus. Her after party continued on the street with performances by Cardi B and Ashante.
Ralph Lauren decided to switch it up as well by having his show at his private car garage in Bedford, New York. Viewers got to see models walking down the runway surrounded by luxury cars.
Gloria Steinem, the 83 year old feminist icon went to her Prabal Gurung’s show and shared her excitement with her first NYFW show.
Lastly, NYFW ended with the iconic Marc Jacobs show, which included an array of colors, including the addition of a turban paired with each out t.
This year’s NYFW saw new designs and brought everyone together in the name of fashion.
