When someone thinks of fall, sweater weather and pumpkin spice lattes may come to their mind, but here at Rutgers Prep, we expect the fall play.
Ms. Turlish, the head of the drama department, revealed a couple of weeks ago that the fall play will be a rendition of The Tale of Tales.
The Tale of Tales is Hillary DePiano’s newest play, and Rutgers Prep is the the very first schools to bring it to life. The name Hillary DePiano may ring a bell.
In 2007, Rutgers Prep produced one of her plays called The Love of Three Oranges, which was well-received and highly acclaimed.
Ms. Turlish also stated that “It was one of the most popular shows we’ve ever done here-we had several sold-out performances and the laugh level in Holley Hall was among the highest we’ve ever had.” With this in mind, Ms. Turlish is very excited about this new production, and so are we.
Because the three plays take place in different environments and frameworks, technical elements like stage settings and changes will be hard to grasp.
The set is the biggest challenge, but by working with Erin Drakoulis, head of Tech, set changes will surely be mastered.
In addition to working with Erin, Ms. Turlish is thrilled to be working with Mr. Laurion and Mr. Nardulli on other features.
The Tale of Tales will surely become a play all Rutgers Prep students will love and remember for a long time. Mark your calendars and be sure to see the play live next month!
