What Happened to Building a Wall? (Trump’s 100 Day Plan)President-elect, Donald Trump, has many plans for his first 100 days in office. Trump claims he wants to “put America first”, which may explain why he is trying to accomplish many tasks during his first days. First, Trump wants to remove America from the Trans-Pacific Partnership, reversing President Obama’s efforts to improve American trade relations with countries in the Pacific Rim. Trump wants the US to have no part in his agreement since some claim that the TPP will destroy job opportunities for Americans and have an overall negative effect on the economy. Trump is also focused on other foreign trades that “abuse” America. He wants to remove the US from these trade deals and focus on what he thinks would be best for our country. Trump also plans to get rid of all environmental constrictions that are already set in place in order to provide more people with jobs. At one point during the election, Trump stated that climate change was a “hoax led by the Chinese”. Even though he said he was joking, it is evident Donald Trump does not care about the environment. He would rather create jobs to “help” his people instead of caring about the Earth. He also would rather cancel payments made to the UN for climate change and instead use that money to fix America’s finances. Another one of Trump’s major focuses is cutting regulations on business. For every new regulation added, he wants to remove two old ones. He plans to remove the Dodd-Frank Act, which places regulations on the finance industry. This act received backlash from several Republicans and Wall Street. Donald Trump also holds very strong views on immigration, and he plans to act accordingly on his views. One of his main goals is to completely end all illegal immigration. Trump has also spoken of imposing laws to make it more difficult for Muslim immigrants to enter our country. As President of the United States, Trump arguably has one of the most important positions in the world. As such, I believe that it’s his responsibility to set an example for the rest of the world. I disagree with his environmental and tax policies. I believe that we should have more restrictions to reduce greenhouse gas emissions instead of lowering the number of environmental constrictions. Reducing environmental constrictions will have a negative effect on our country, and the world itself. I disagree with Donald Trump on his views of immigration as well. I believe that America sees itself as a welcoming country and it would be against our ethics if we put immigration laws towards people from a certain region or religion. Let’s see what Trump manages to accomplish when it comes time for him to finally take over as the 45th President of the United States at the end of January.
