Grammy Awards PredictionsOn February 12th, the 59th annual Grammy Award Show will happen and many people are excited to see which of their favorite artists will sweep the awards this year. The competition between this year’s world-renowned nominees is definitely tight. Most of the speculation revolves around who will win the Album of the Year Award. Will it be Adele’s 25, Beyonce’s Lemonade, Justin Bieber’s Purpose, Drake’s Views, or Sturgill Simpson’s A Sailor’s Guide to Earth? It is too early to call. However, here are some predictions for this year’s Grammy Awards, hosted by James Corden. This year’s stellar Grammy performance lineup has topped the previous years’ performance schedules. Newest to the lineup are R&B artists The Weeknd with Daft Punk and Alicia Keys with Maren Morris. With the release of his new album Starboy, The Weeknd has blown up the charts with his fresh vibes, most notably in the song “I Feel It Coming” featuring Daft Punk. Alicia Keys is no newcomer to music success, as her latest album Here got everyone excited last year. Many hope that she will wow the crowd with “Blended Family (What You Do For Love)”, featuring A$AP Rocky. These artists will join the previously announced performers Carrie Underwood, Adele, John Legend, Metallica, Keith Urban, and Bruno Mars, all with extraordinary music releases in the past year. Although many artists realized amazing music this past year, most of our eyes lay on today’s fiercest ladies Adele and Beyonce. The two will be neck and neck in three categories: Record of the Year, Album of the Year, and Song of the Year. It will be a very close call, especially with other powerful artists in the running, including Justin Bieber, Drake, Rihanna, and Lukas Graham. Other promising winners could be Twenty Pilots for their song “Heathens” in the category Best Rock Song, Rihanna for her song “Kiss it Better” in the category Best R&B Song, Desiigner for his song “Panda” in the category Best Rap Performance, and Kanye West for his album Life of Pablo in the category Best Rap Album. Who will swipe all the awards on music’s biggest night? We’ll have to wait until Sunday, February 12th to find out.
