“It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas” is what every television and movie channel has screamed since Black Friday.
It seems like the winter holidays get longer every year, which means that there is more time to watch the heartwarming movies that we all love.
No matter what channel one flips to, they will either see Rudolf the Red Nosed Reindeer shining his well-renowned nose, Fievel Mouskewitz frolicking across the screen as he celebrates Hanukkah with his family.
Experiencing these movies is definitely a right of passage no matter what religion one practices. It is only right to watch these movies with cup of hot chocolate on the left, a fireplace roaring on the right, and family & loved ones nearby.
There are a plethora of films to choose from for this season. For people looking for a Christmas comedy, the movie, “Elf” comes highly recommended.
A young man, raised as an elf in the North Pole, goes to New York City to meet his biological family. Throughout this adventure, he seems to wreak havoc everywhere he turns. A beautiful and hilarious story comes alive with Will Ferrell staring as Buddy the elf.
For those who crave the classics, White Christmas is the best choice. This movie embodies the spirit of Christmas as a group in rural Vermont attempts to put on a Christmas show.
In their preparation, they end up running into an old friend who has come upon financial difficulties. The group pulls off a winter wonderland extravaganza and generously gifts the proceeds to their friend in need. This movie will keep viewers singing, dancing, and maybe even shedding a tear.
Last but not least, “Eight Crazy Nights” is a Hanukkah cartoon for the whole family to enjoy. Adam Sandler’s character, Davey Stone, spends his holiday completing community service hours for a youth basketball league to avoid jail time. He thinks he’s been let off easy until he learns valuable life lessons from his assistant referee.
These movies are great for spending quality time with both friends and family this upcoming holiday season.
